ENERGY STAR
Federal law* prohibits federal agencies from leasing buildings that have not earned the ENERGY STAR®label. Owners and managers of commercial property must have their buildings ENERGY STAR labeled in order to be eligible for leasing by the General Services Administration (GSA).
Engineered Systems & Services LLC (ESS) has assisted local governments and institutions in achieving numerous building ENERGY STAR certifications. ESS’s professional engineers verify the building’s physical and operating characteristics in addition to applying their professional judgment on whether the buildings meet industry accepted standards for ventilation, lighting and thermal comfort through on-site inspections. We draw on our extensive building mechanical design experience to advise clients of strategies to correct deficiencies that would prevent award of the ENERGY STAR label.
